Steins;Gate is set in the summer of 2010, approximately one year after the events that took place in Chaos;Head, in Akihabara.

Steins;Gate is about a group of friends who have customized their microwave into a device that can send text messages to the past. As they perform different experiments, an organization named SERN, who has been doing their own research on time travel, tracks them down and now the characters have to find a way to avoid being captured by them.

Notes: To promote the upcoming Steins;Gate 0 VN release, they streamed an alternate version of episode 23 (β) that diverges into the 0 story line.

  1. A phenomenal work from Nitroplus who also brought us Chaos;Head, at least to some of my friends. At best it's a masterpiece for those who think this is a magnum opus, but as for me, Steins;Gate had its own flaws which make me don't really enjoy it as much as my friends did. If you have read the synopsis, you should've known that this anime is very science-oriented, which I think the creators should've done a better job explaining to viewer who are not necessarily educated in scientific-terms.

One more thing. As always, this anime was adapted from the earlier visual novel. So... If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you could always play the game yourself.
